El centre for the reception of Islamic deceased of the Cementery of Montjuīc is located in the former deposit for corpses of the facility, at the carrer Mare de Déu del Port number 56 in Barcelona. The building housing the centre was completely rehabilitated for its new necessities and functions. The centre consists of two rooms, one for the conditioning of the deceased as well as a polyvalent room with capacity for up to 100 people for the celebration of ceremonies and prayers.
The main objective of this new facility, which Serveis Funeraris de Barcelona will manage, is to give a better service to its users, taking into account the increasing number of Islamic families residing in Barcelona. The centre will have an estimated demand of between 5 and 7 services a month.
